Florida: not just bikini'd babes any more

Today we got a chance to take part in the second edition of Rare Book Cafe'- a live video conference/chat put on by members of the Florida Antiquarian Book Fair.

These guys do this show free, for 90 minutes, twice a week (Saturdays 2.30-4.00p ET; Wednesdays, 3.30p-5.00p ET) at the new conferencing site blab.im. They take questions from audience members, and if you are set up to use your laptop or desktop video features, you can actually join the conference. If you miss the show, they are archived at the Book Fair's blog. All are welcomed, from novice collector to seasoned expert dealer.

I found it a remarkably useful- and friendly- format. It was like having a personal rare book class taught by three experts, and just to me! One of the participants, Steven Eisenstein, also hosts a two-hour weekend internet radio show, Bucks on Your Bookshelf, at wdbfradio.com.  Saturday is fast becoming Online Book Class Day for Henry Bemis Books. Join the fun!
