Fading to the spine, some light foxing in places, lavishly illustrated with b&w photographs. 354 pp. 9 3/8 x 6 1/2. Signed by apparent first owner, John Tate Jenkins, on the half page, in a fine hand. The author's second book, which retraces the journeys of Ulysses in Homer's Odyssey, with side trips to Rupert Brooke’s grave and The Hellespont, which Halliburton saw a la Byron in 1810. Halliburton, one of America’s most famous personalities of the 1920s and ‘30s, pioneered travel/adventure writing before vanishing while attempting to sail the Pacific in a Chinese junk in 1939.
