A pyramid full o'grain isn't enough for the lean years any more, you gotta sell books to people who don't read.

Though he denied the connection, Ben Carson was the first presidential candidate anyone can recall who interrupted his campaign to go on a book tour. Now The Boston Globe is arguing peddling books was one of his main reasons for running, and the sales data backs them up.

Of course, after revelations that Ted Cruz' campaign used publisher's discounts to buy up his own campaign book on the cheap, boost his sales on the best seller lists, and then sell them, signed by autopen, to new doors at Yuuuge Markups, it all makes perfect sense.
