Anything signed by author J.K. Rowling generally puts the copy in the four-figure range (the celebrity author did fewer signings as her success grew). Even more valuable, however, are first editions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone where the book is credited to "Joanne Rowling." The writer later famously used her two initials to appeal to male readers (who might not want to read a book written by a woman).
